Welcome Jeremy Davis,
our new Director of Music!
Jeremy Davis hails from Marion NC. He is the director of music at Marion First FWB Church where he oversees the worship music for weekly services. Prior to his appointment at Marion First, he served as the director of music for the First Presbyterian Church of Marion NC for two years and the artistic director and conductor of the Foothills Community Band for 8 years. Jeremy attended Mars Hill College with an emphasis on music education. His instrument of study was trumpet, where his primary teachers were Mark Clodfelter and Rusty Smith. While at Mars Hill, he performed in the Wind Symphony, Jazz Ensemble, trumpet ensemble and brass quintet. He also was a first tenor in the College Choir. He was principle trumpet with the Blue Ridge Orchestra in Asheville NC for 2 seasons. Conducting; both instrumental and choral has always been his passion. His primary conducting teachers were Dr. Daniel Schmidt (instrumental) and Dr. Joel Reed (choral). He served as the student conductor for the collegiate band for one year. Later studies were done at UNC Greensboro; where his primary teachers were Dr. Edward Bach (trumpet) and Dr. John Locke (conducting). Jeremy has performed in many churches throughout the years and is happy to be back home at Marion First FWB, where he was raised and gave his life to Jesus at 7 years old. He resides in Marion with his wife Crystal, his three children, JJ, Drew and Ashley and best doggy pal Rocko.
