How's Your Faith?
"...If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove: and nothing shall be impossible unto you." Matthew 17:20b
For an upcoming craft market, I decided to make mustard seed necklaces to sell. I found small glass vials with a cork topper and printed on my laser cutter a small wood piece that says Faith. This morning I was filling the vials with a mustard seed so that I could glue the topper on. After gluing the topper on, I picked one up and saw the seed fall out through a hole in the bottom of the vial. I didn't notice the hole at first as it was on the side of the bottom and was not an issue until I turned the vial over. It was then the seed fell out. Essentially, this glass vial lost its faith.
Now, you may scoff at this, but for me it was an eye-opener. How many times have we allowed Satan and life's circumstances to chip away at our lives until a hole forms. A hole large enough for us to allow Satan to rob us of our faith and trust. We forget that, if we hold fast, God will move mountains through our faith. While we see an impossible situation, God sees the need for a mustard seed.
The mustard seed is small, yet mighty. It can provide many health benefits including lowering our blood pressure. Faith, even in this small of form, provides many spiritual benefits. (Faith and trust in God can also lower your blood pressure -just so you know!)
So, grab your mustard seed of faith and trust that God will move mountains because as he said, nothing shall be impossible when we hold fast to it!
