Committed to Christ

Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. Psalm 37:5

A fitness guru recently said:

With Commitment comes Discipline
With Discipline Comes Execution
With Execution Comes Results
It All Starts with Commitment - Be Committed

Now, they were speaking of being committed to fitness and exercise and the commitment it takes to live a healthier lifestyle.

However, let's talk about spiritual fitness - it doesn't require giving up chocolate....

David, in his later years, wrote this particular verse. He understood this from a life of leaning on God. He also understood this from those times he didn't and seeing the heartache it brought. When David encouraged us to commit our way unto the Lord, he is saying trust God with the path you will travel here on Earth. From experience, he is saying, "Give God everything and trust Him to guide you".

When we commit our lives, our path, and our future to God, we will learn to be disciplined and refrain from a worldly lifestyle and vocabulary.
When our discipline is established, we can execute a Christian lifestyle and be a light to others.
When our Christian lifestyle is executed correctly, we will see fruit from our witness to this lost and dying world.

But, it all starts with commitment.
