Naughty or Nice?

As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: Romans 3:10

This time of year, many children hear the tale of being on Santa's nice or naughty list. Which list they are on is based on their behavior for that year. Ray Stevens taught us along time ago that Santa is watching us and knows when we are bad. For many of us, we have been permanent residents of the naughty list for some time.

Well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but...... we are all bad. Paul is reminding readers of Romans that we cannot be righteous in our own merit. We will be judged based on our actions, our choices, and the lives we live. We were born into sin and only through salvation can we ever be right with God. It's through His willingness to send His Son to this wretched, sin-cursed world on that Holy night to be our sacrifice that we can ever have the hope of Heaven.

Does this mean that as Christians, we are exempt from sinning? Even a sinner will tell you Christians aren't perfect. We still struggle with sinful choices. However, through His blood we can live victorious over sin.
