The Light

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. John 8:12

On Sunday, the choir sang Silent Night. In the second verse, we read, "Darkness flies, all is light".  On the night Jesus was born, the Light entered the world. Many slumbered in their beds on that quiet Bethlehem night, not knowing that the Light of the World had arrived.

But some did. The shepherds were the first to welcome Him. The angels made sure they understood the significance of that cold, winter night. What began as an ordinary evening became the most memorable night of their lives. On that silent, holy night, darkness had been replaced with a light that would shine for all eternity.

Is He the light of your life? Has His light replaced the darkness in your life? If not, it can. This Christmas season, make room for Him in your heart and allow His light to fill your life.
